How much did washing machines cost in the 1990s?
Q. How much did washing machines cost in the 1990s. Also, does anyone know the average actual price to retailers, back then and now. Any help would be appreciated.
Asked by ??? - Wed Jul 15 13:16:28 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. We purchased ours in the 1990's and they were about $500 a piece. That being said, we purchased top of the line machines and ones that were rated for low repairs and high reliability by Consumer Reports. Back then, you could also buy no name basic machines for as little as $150 each, too. We used to sell appliances up until the late 80's when the market completely changed on all appliances and the profit margin dropped dramatically unless you were selling volume. Even when we were selling them, there was only about a 10% profit margin.

What happened to all the mental patients in the 1990s?
Q. Prior to the 1990s, there were huge mental hospitals in every county and most cities and large towns throughout GB. Some of these housed hundred of patients, many deemed to be a risk to society. When most of these buildings were sold off and turned into flats in the 90s, what happened to all the patients?
Asked by Andy - Wed May 21 06:41:47 2008 - - 12 Answers - 0 Comments

A. A lot were deemed to be 'safe' enough to be allowed to live as "Care in the Community". I imagine the ones that weren't were put into more secure wards in regular hosptials or in sheltered accommodation. There was a large mental hospital in the East End of London called St Clements, that's closed down now so who knows where all the patients went.

Q. Im 42 and the kids that were born in the 1990s seem like there all insane. The kids are so much diffrent now. The youth is so corrput how are they going to lead a nation some day?
Asked by TOdd S - Mon Nov 3 20:05:20 2008 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. lets see, being 42 would make you a teenager right around the mid 80s, a time when cocaine was rampant and people wore leg warmers and thought devo was culturally relevant. think about it, the generation above you probably thought you were crazy and corrupt too... except that they were at woodstock in 1969 and fried their brains on weed and acid-laced water. the cycle of generation gaps is simply beginning again, but rest assured the youth will mature as much as yours did. unfortunately, if your attitude in this post represents how far your generation has advanced from childhood angst, then it might explain why our country has fallen so far under YOUR leadership.

A. You have never experienced anything except a time when computer technology dominated our lives. Unlike me who was born in the sixties you're probably totally attuned to the idea of living with all mod cons to make our lives easier. Whether they make our lives better however is questionable. I remember a time when having a car or a holiday was a luxury not a necessity and when almost everyone rented rather than owned their homes.

A. I'm not sure what you are asking about exactly. But some changes have been for CPA's and Financial Planners requirements. I don't think Planners even needed anything back then. CPA requirements have increase recently in my state. Sarbanes-Oxley or SOX is new. It was brought about to combat corporate fraud. Other new stuff: Reverse Mortgages, 40 year mortgages, 75 month car loans, revised bankruptcy laws.

Are sports trading rookie cards of the 1990s going to be worth anything in ten to fifteen years?
Q. upper deck, topps, parkhurst, o-p-c, so many from the 1990s. big name rookie cards of potential hall of famers from the 1990s probably won't be worth as much as a Mantle or Jordan , but bulking up on lots could pay off later since they are so cheap now. Would like to get some ideas, opinions and forecasts. Thanks.
Asked by cardboard - Mon Jul 14 21:15:23 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. What's nostalgic to someone now can mean anything from the 1950s to 90s but it's not something I'd invest in. Whatever you do, buy cards that are gradeable as some condition-conscious collectors will use the graded versions as investments or pay a premium for their collections. ARod, Jeter, LT, Garnett, etc--some of the more iconic players might be worth a shot, but I'd look only at players who are extremely popular and shoe-ins for the Halls of Fame.

Does anybody know the name of the player that celebrated a goal by standing on the cross bar in the 1990s?
Q. I have vague recollections of it, I think it may have been in Italy and I'm not even 100% sure it was the 1990s. All I know is that a player scored and stood on the cross bar to salute the crowd. He was wearing a white kit if that helps!

A. If you have an address of that style home, you can go to city hall and pay for a copy of the blue prints. Richmond American is still in business, so you can contact them and I'm sure they'll sell you a copy of the plans for a few hundred dollars.

Did the 21st century seem to start in the early 1990s?
Q. I'm not talking literally speaking, but does anyone agree by about 1991, the 21st century (as we know it in 2008) was already kind of here? Even the 1980s don't really seem "classically" 20th century like the 1920s to 1970s do. The past 20 years or so seem more modern than modern.
Asked by Oregon hippie - Mon Sep 22 08:55:47 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. I never really thought about it before but you have a point. I think the technology boom of the 1990s set that decade apart from the others in the 20th century and in retrospect makes it seem more like part of the 21st century.

Does anyone know where I can find a picture of a 1980s or 1990s Prowler, like the one in "Fargo"?
Q. I bought "Fargo" for my sister for Christmas and I wanted to attach a picture of a Prowler to the gift (I'm weird like that :P). Anyone know where I can find a picture? I'm not sure of an exact year or even decade of the one used in the film, but I think 1980s or 1990s would work. My searches so far have only resulted in pictures of much newer Prowlers. Any help I could get on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
