A. World War One helped create a massive Farming depression in the late 19-teens. During the war, Farmers were called upon to supply grain to Europe, because it was being ravaged by war and couldn't feed itself. When the war ended abruptly in 1918, the farmers in America had a huge surplus of grain, and no one to sell it to. Inflation skyrocketed on farms, grain went to waste, and huge numbers of farmers were forced to sell their farms or declare bankruptcy. The farm depression is just one thing that lead to the Great Depression a few years later.
