Why do people keep saying that Twilight is a idiotic fad?
Q. Why do people keep saying that is a dumb fad? I think that if you haven't read the books you have NO right to judge them! I completely understand if you read the books and don't care for them. I recommend the books to everyone. And to the people who keep talking trash about the Twilight books, try actually reading them.

A. *Twilight lover btw* Some people hated it from the movie (ticked me off horribly)... As for others, They said not much happened in the first book so they couldn't really get into the serious. Some people just have different tastes. Though I agree, there are some people out there who have never read it and saying how terrible it is! I can feel for them though because I personally don't like popular things... but twilight was amazing!

Do you think cell phones are the most useful and long lasting fad?
Q. For most people they are a necessity. But then there are many who want them to fit in. So does that make them fall into the fad category?

A. They're too useful and long lived to be considered a fad. Having to have the latest, most expensive model with unecessary features is a fad.

What is the next fad be in cell phones?
Q. Cell phones started with the basic bar shape, then flip phones, then camera phones, then thin phones and music phones about the same time, then sliders, then GPS and TV, and now the fad is touch screen phones. (I think that is the order of the big changes) What will the next one be?

A. TV sort of came alongside touschreen, I think... The next thing: Gaming. Iphone is already taking way in that. First person shooter and a pet dog game was revealed for the new Iphone at Apple Conference or something. Other phones, such as the Palm Pre, plan to have a Flash update, so 3D games will be available to them. Phones with data services that match Wi-Fi would be... great.

Who cannot wait for the Twilight fad to end?
Q. Because yes children, it is a fad and will be thankfully be forgotten within the next 3 to 5 years. At the VERY least, 10 years, but by then the screaming fan girls will have grown up a little and moved on to books with actual literary merit. to yerosmyhero: I don't mean to offend you, and yes i know people are allowed to have their opinions. I will stop writing about how much I dislike twilight when the twilight fangirls stop obsessing over it all over yahoo-answers books and authors section.

What do you think is worse: the twilight fad or the hating twilight fad?

A. The Twilight fad, in my opinion. The Twilight fan girls annoy me, but I'd rather be known for hating it, than being one of them. I didn't like the bad acting in the movie, and I found lots of problems with the writing of the books, and the storyline. I find it cliche, and it's not what I look for in a good book. Plus, the character of Bella annoys me, as she always needs saving. I hate weak characters. I don't dislike it because it is cool to do so, but because I actually DON'T like it. I read the books, and tortured myself with the movie, so you can't say I didn't give it a fair try. The only reason I watched the film was to listen to Paramore's contribution to the soundtrack. To be honest, I'm indifferent. When people bring Twilight… [cont.]

What's up with the popular fad of using acronyms and abbreviations as substitutes for phrases and words?
Q. I've noticed a disturbing increase in the substituting of acronyms for phrases (rotfl-rolling on the floor laughing, imho-in my humble opinion) abbreviations for words (ppl-people, coz-because, wut-what), letters for words (u-you, y-why, r-are) and numbers for words (2-two,too,to and 4-for,four) on the internet. What's the deal? Why would someone think it's cool to spell like a moron?

A. Today's schools really don't teach our children how to spell, or the proper use of the english language. My pet peeve is the word "Gots" "She gots it in her hand". What does that mean?

Is leadership a subject worth studying or just a fad?
Q. This week in my leadership class I have to give a debate and write a paper on whether leadership is a subjet worth studying or whether it's just kind of a fad. I would like your guys input, I may use it to springboard my ideas and or may use quotes from you to do a little debate on my own in the paper. Thanks.
Asked by chillinginchicago - Tue Nov 6 14:55:42 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. leadership is not a fad. it is what occurs when there is more than one person present. there will always be leaders as long as we live amongst others. leadership is important to study not only in matters of societal changes and meeting needs but as a personal way to grow and develop oneself. we should think as leaders that is to say not follow others without giving thought to what we believe is best and right. we should "lead" our lives and not run with the crowd just to blend in.
